I wholeheartedly approve of this post, as I wipe Peep dust off my bed. (They’ve never been my favorite-est, but this year they’re basically medicinal.)

Speaking of medicinal, one of your more recent posts was about chicken soup, and it’s inspired me to seriously consider trying it. (idek. I don’t think there is an explanation.)

The one I always find tricky over the holidays is the delay in meals – if I’m already feeling stressed and low, being hungry because the rest of the family are used to eating later than me really doesn’t help.

Did you read the Saveur article a while back on different kinds of apples? I remember that there was a full-page photograph of a dozen different apples, all of which had been baked, and an analysis of how each one stood up to baking and so forth.

Hee, you won’t be able to shut me up about the CSA. It’s due to start in the autumn, so there’s a few months yet, but I’m looking forward to it immensely.

Ramps usually grow wild, as far as I know, so I don’t know how planting them would go, but if you figure it out, I would be really interested! And really, you can use them pretty much like garlic or green onions; I’ve had a lot of success sauteéing them lightly and tossing them with pasta.

Hey, tell me all about your CSA experiences…. (people here in England are getting into the the whole CSA thing now so I know peeps here would be interested to have a different perspective.)

Ramps – had to look up…. wild leeky oniony thing…. are you going to have a recipe including ramps… i would be really interested in being able to grow it… (must go and find some seeds…)

You are right about who might be interested in this! A select few indeed…. including me…. Strange – I seem to acquire things rather than lose things when I move. (Though I did have a knife stolen from me – rrrrr!).. I’ve acquired teapots and cake stands, cafetieres and flasks…

And (choke, choke) you have a carbon steel wok….
